Peninsula Dance Theatre performs a 60-minute Nutcracker specially designed for Kitsap County’s school aged children.  This field trip showcases artistic value, creative voice and cultural heritage; our children benefit from this beautiful production by understanding elements of literature, art, and music.

The ballet features Clara, the young girl whose dreams, inspired by her Uncle Her Drosselmeyer, take her on an adventure to the Kingdom of Snow and the enchanting Land of Sweets. Your children will meet Clara’s naughty brother Fritz, King Rat and Mother Buffoon with her adorable Bonbons, King and Queen of the Snow and all the characters in the land of sweets.

This is a fabulous opportunity to introduce our youth to classical ballet at a reasonable cost with a local commute. No need to schedule that long bus ride to Seattle to see a traditional ballet when one can be found right in our own backyard.

During a brief intermission the curtains will be opened and the children will be treated to a glance at the backstage area of Bremerton Performing Arts Center. An explanation of some of the theater’s technical aspects will be discussed.

This field trip matinee is held at Bremerton High School’s Performing Art’s Center on Thursday, Dec 4th at 10:00 am and 12:30 pm.  Tickets will be $5.00 per student.
